DCTaper™H  - Dentin Conservation - NiTi Rotary Files System

The SS White® Endodontic File System is anatomically designed with the most minimally invasive shapes to provide greater safety, strength, and flexibility in negotiating canals

  • DCTaper™ Files: Designed to Conserve Vital Peri-Cervical Dentin
9 out of 10 referring dentists have experienced frustration in restoring endodontically treated teeth that do not preserve supporting dentin, which is vital to the long-term success of the restoration

Establish Canal Patency with DCGlide Path™ NiTi Rotary File System

DCTaper™ NiTi rotary files, make the transition from glide path development to shaping seamless.
Used together, the DC File System offers clinicians the ability to develop safe and predictable canal patency and follow with both, deep apical shaping and conservative coronal shaping

  • Safe-end prevents ledging, transportation and perforation
  • Reduced shaft diameters increase flexibility required for curved canal negotiation
  • Variable taper design preserves vital dentin in coronal third
  • Variable pitch design reduces screw-in effect

DCGlide Path™ & DCTaper™ NiTi Rotary Files System CONSERVATION, EFFICIENCY, SAFETY, FLEXIBILITY & STRENGTH

  • Non Cutting Tip - Safeguards against perforation a transportation
  • Variable Pitch - Variable helical angle and variable flute pitch
  • Variable Taper - Preserve Dentin throughout the peri-cervical area
  • Reduced Shaft - Allows file to remain flexible even in the most curved canals

Variable Decreasing Taper Design Creates the Most Conservative Root Canal Shape

  • A root canal has a variable rate of change NOT a constant rate of taper change, this is the basis for variable taper design of DCTaper™ Files
  • DCTaper™ File System encompasses a more anatomic design that creates shape while preserving key peri-cervical dentin by more closely mirroring the natural shape of the root
  • DCTaper™ instruments have a variable decreasing rate of taper going from tip to shaft

Strong & Flexible Through Parabolic Core Design

Flexibility Through Safe-Core™ Parabolic Design

  • High flexibility for successful navigation of even the most curved canals
  • Strong core design safeguards against separation
  • Strongest core design of any major competitor*
To mechanically shape and prepare the root canals during endodontic therapy.
To remove the root canal obturating material while performing retreatment.
To remove infected pulp.

Recommended speed is 150 to 400 rpm
Recommended torque limit is 450 g/cm (4.4 N/cm).
Recommended Sequence
1. Establish the initial glide path patency with #8 or #10 hand files.
2. Enlarge / expand canal orifice with a DCTaperH™ 20/06 or 25/06 rotary file going apically about 1 -2 mm (D1–D2) past the orifice. The SS White Orifice Opener may be used if preferred by the clinician. An EG #2 slow speed with a light touch can also be used. Avoid using Gates Gliddens or Peeso reamers as canal orifice openers.
3. Complete hand filing from #10-#15 hand file depending on the size and shape of the canal anatomy.
4. Next use DCTaper 13/v03 or 14/03 and DCTaperH™17/v04 to initiate rotary filing sequence.
5. Irrigate with NAOCL (using side vented irrigation needle) alternating with EDTA or equivalent with each pass of the next instrument and when recapitulating with hand files.
6. Use lubricant with each file.
7. Use each file sequentially to apical working length until desired enlargement is achieved.
8. Allow files to engage and advance apically to resistance on their own – do not push or “help” them advance through resistance.
9. After the file engages dentin for 1-3mm remove it and wipe dentinal debris from file flutes to enhance debris removal.
